    Dušan Kovačević was born on 12th July 1948 in Mrđenovac, near Šabac. He attended primary school in Šabac and gram mar school in Novi Sad, completing his secondary education in 1968. He studied at the Theatre, Film, Radio and Television Academy in Belgrade and graduated from the dramaturgy department in 1973. He lives and works in Belgrade.
